Now available as a hard copy or e-book, Afghanistan: Fortress of Cannabis is a wonderful photographic book by Lucas Strazzeri which documents his 2018 journey through Balkh Province during the cannabis harvest.

Lucas and I first met in 2007 in Peshawar, when I was on a plant hunting trip for authentic, old-school hashish strains (‘landraces’) in the Hindu Kush.
